Fault: Pre-mature Cam Timing Belt Failure. On all 300 TDI Engines the cam belt can slowly work its way off of the various gears and rub the outer cover.

Solution: This will shred the edge o the belt and finally cause its failure, resulting in pushrod, rocker arm and possible valve damage. Land Rover did not recall these engines but did sell a modification kit. However all that is required is when a new belt is fitted a new modified pulley is replaced at the same time.
